I have always been telling a lot of my friends and my family that it is of utmost importance for them to lower their cholesterol and in particular their LDL cholesterol or commonly known as the bad cholesterol. It was not only until recently that I got to know from a friend that it is not the high LDL cholesterol in the body that kills but the oxidization of the LDL cholesterol that kills.
If a person has high LDL cholesterol, it doesn’t necessarily means that he or she will have a heart attack or stroke though the chances are higher. What is more important is to equally have a higher percentage of the HDL cholesterol or commonly known as the good cholesterol and with a high percentage of HDL cholesterol, it can help one to prevent the oxidization of the LDL cholesterol.
There are several ways where one can increase their good cholesterol, mainly:
- Regular exercising
- High intake of antioxidants
- Supplement of Vitamin B3
- Dietary supplement that combines the lowering of bad cholesterol and increasing good cholesterol
Remember to do your due diligence and find out what works and more importantly, do know that there is definitely an alternative to statin drugs to address total cholesterol concerns.
